How to Play

Each day FootGssr picks one footballer from a curated pool of 2026 World Cup players. The same player is served to every visitor worldwide for 24 hours, then rotates at midnight UTC. Here's exactly how a round works.

The 10-clue system

You start with a single clue on screen. If it isn't enough, tap Reveal next clueto unlock another — up to a maximum of ten. Clues get progressively easier: the first one is usually a cryptic career fact, and the last one is nearly a giveaway (nation, club, or shirt number).

At any point you can type a guess into the search box. Autocomplete only shows player names that exist in the pool, so misspellings won't cost you a clue.

Scoring

Only your best score per day is stored on the global leaderboard, so replaying doesn't hurt you — but you can't overwrite a higher score with a lower one.

The leaderboard

Pick a username the first time you play. The top 30 scorers of the current day appear on the public leaderboard, ranked by score and then by how quickly the answer was submitted. Guests can play but don't appear on the board.
